About the Book

The world today stands at a pivotal crossroads, facing unprecedented challenges that threaten the delicate balance between human progress and the planet’s sustainability. Climate change, resource depletion, social inequities, and rapid technological advancement demand not only urgent action but also innovative thinking that transcends traditional disciplinary boundaries. Towards Sustainable World: Interdisciplinary Perspective and Practices emerges from this context, offering a holistic exploration of sustainability through the lenses of science, technology, social sciences, and the humanities. This book brings together diverse voices and expertise to illuminate the interconnectedness of sustainable development. Recognizing that no single field holds all the answers, the chapters
within this volume demonstrate how interdisciplinary collaboration is essential for crafting effective, long-lasting solutions to global challenges. From the transformative potential of electronics and communication engineering in building smarter, more resilient societies, to the critical role of fiction, non-fiction, and language in shaping and reflecting environmental awareness, each chapter underscores the importance of integrating knowledge across domains. Innovations in green chemistry and sustainable practices are explored, highlighting how scientific advancements can minimize environmental impact in industrial processes. Mathematical models are presented as powerful tools for quantifying and addressing complex environmental issues, while the growing field of sustainable investment is examined through the lens of ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) criteria, emphasizing the financial sector’s role in fostering responsible growth.
