Sustainability has emerged as one of the most pressing imperatives of our time. From escalating climate crises and biodiversity loss to deepening social inequalities and unsustainable consumption patterns, the world faces unprecedented challenges that demand urgent, collective, and informed responses. Amidst
these complexities, education stands as a transformative force—one that not only shapes knowledge and awareness but also fosters values, skills, and agency essential for a sustainable future. This book was conceived with the belief that the path to sustainability begins in our classrooms. It explores how education,
especially when reoriented and purposefully designed, can empower future citizens to embrace sustainability not as a lofty ideal, but as a lived, everyday practice. At the heart of this text lies a simple yet profound proposition: embedding sustainability into education is not just an option, but a necessity for shaping aviable and equitable future.
