Salma Begum, M.A. (Applied Economics), PGDBA (Finance), B.Ed., and Ph.D. (Economics), serves as Assistant Professor of Economics and Area Chair of the Department of General Management at Faculty of Management Studies, CMS Business School, JAIN (Deemed-to-be University), Bangalore, India with over 12 years of academic and research experience. Author of four books, over 40 research papers, and 12 book chapters published in Scopus, ABDC, and UGC Care. Presented more than 30 papers at national and international conferences. Holder of two national and two international patents. Completed multiple short-term courses, including Public Policy Analysis from the London School of Economics and Political Science, Petroleum Economics Management, Descriptive Statistics using R, and Econometric Modelling from IIT Roorkee, IIT Kanpur, and IIT Kharagpur. Guided one successfully awarded Ph.D. scholar and currently supervising three Ph.D. Scholars, while mentoring several MBA students on theses and projects. Organizer of national conferences, seminars, Faculty Development Programs (FDP), Management Development Programs (MDP), and workshops. Delivered invited talks at national and international forums. Serves as a peer reviewer for top-tier journals such as the Journal of Forecasting (Q1) and Asian Journal of Business Ethics (Q1), as well as other reputable journals and international conferences in the USA, Seoul, and China. Recipient of the Global Faculty Award 2023 and recognized for mentoring disadvantaged youth across India through the NGO FEA.
